The National Police Hospital (NPC), which will offer top-notch medical care to some 12,000 police officers, has received approval from Islamabad Capital Police.

With the help of Federal Minister for Development and Planning Ahsan Iqbal and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, the Planning Commission of the Ministry of Development and Planning has approved clearance for the hospital’s development. They understood how important it is to have a hospital that serves the nation’s police force.

Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Inspector General (IG) of the Islamabad Police, approved it. It will provide 100 beds for the Islamabad Police. Once it is finished, the hospital will also be accessible to citizens of the city.

The plan calls for the construction of homes for doctors and paramedics, as well as parking lots and facilities for air ambulances. The hospital building will also be powered by solar energy in line with Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif’s objective to reduce energy costs.

The facility will offer surgical intensive care units (ICUs), medical ICUs, cardiac ICUs, and cardiac care units in addition to medicine, cardiology, and neurology. The hospital plans to increase the capacity to 200 beds in the future. IG Khan commended the administration for attending to the police force’s urgent demand.

Additionally, he commended Capital Police Officer (Headquarters) Owais Ahmed and his team for their tireless efforts in making this dream come true. The police chief pledged to keep working to implement welfare programmes for police officers that would raise both their own and their loved ones’ morale.

The hospital project was sanctioned in 2018, but for unidentified reasons it could not move further. But now that the project has been restarted, construction will shortly start. This hospital will finally give Islamabad’s police force access to a much-needed medical facility.
