Interim Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has given the green light for a substantial upgrade of Lahore Zoo and Safari Park, as per recent reports.
The project entails the introduction of new animals and birds to both Lahore Zoo and Safari Park. These additions will include pandas, hippos, rhinoceroses, African pigeons, black jaguars, pumas, and Chiltan Markhors (a type of wild goat).
Furthermore, the upgrade plan encompasses the establishment of a state-of-the-art aquarium at Lahore Zoo and Safari Park, showcasing 142 types of marine life. The animal enclosures will undergo transformation into world-class habitats, prioritizing the well-being and comfort of the resident animals.

Safari Park will also undergo a significant transformation, featuring distinct zones such as the African zone, desert, and salt range. Additionally, a night safari experience will be introduced, allowing visitors to observe nocturnal wildlife.
To enhance visitor convenience, CM Naqvi has instructed the implementation of an e-ticketing system for both Lahore Zoo and Safari Park. He emphasized that these facilities will adhere to international standards and expressed a commitment to improving other visitor amenities.
This announcement was made during a meeting chaired by CM Naqvi, where he received a comprehensive presentation on the extensive upgrade plan. The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials, including the Punjab Chief Secretary, Senior Member of the Board of Revenue, Chairman of Planning and Development, Secretaries from various departments, DG Wildlife, and other key figures.
