Ajay Devgn Reacts to Wife Kajol Saying Marriages Should Have an ‘Expiry Date’

MUMBAI – Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn has shared his views following his wife Kajol’s recent comments about marriages having an “expiry date.” Kajol made the remark on her new OTT show while discussing evolving relationships in today’s world.

During the show, co-host Twinkle Khanna asked whether marriages should come with an option to renew after a set period. Kajol agreed with the idea, stating that having a renewal option could prevent prolonged pain if a relationship no longer works. She said, “I truly believe this. What guarantee is there that you marry the right person at the right time? Having a renewal option makes sense.”

Kajol’s statement quickly sparked debate on social media, prompting Ajay Devgn to share his perspective in a separate interview. He reflected on how the meaning of love has changed over time. “Love has become ordinary.

It’s not what it used to be. The words ‘I love you’ are now used so casually that they’ve lost their depth,” said Ajay Devgn. He added that in earlier times, expressing love carried great significance, and people valued it more sincerely.

Actor R. Madhavan supported Ajay’s point, noting that older generations treated love with a lot of seriousness. Ajay Devgn highlighted that today, love is often expressed through emojis or casual words, which diminishes its original importance.

Kajol and Ajay Devgn first met on the set of the 1995 film Hulchul and tied the knot four years later. Over the years, the couple has become one of Bollywood’s most celebrated duos, often admired for balancing successful careers with a strong family life.
