Pakistani actress Alizeh Shah has ignited a fresh controversy by calling out what she described as the morally corrupt practices dominating the local entertainment industry. In a blunt Instagram story, she took a direct jab at fellow actors who, according to her, “sell self-respect” in exchange for roles and screen time.
Without naming names, Alizeh criticised the widespread use of influence, or “parchi,” to secure projects, stating that she has always chosen to stand on merit alone. She claimed that these unethical tactics are largely unique to Pakistan’s entertainment world, where professionalism is often wrongly equated with compliance.

Alizeh also pointed out the harsh backlash faced by those who refuse to follow this norm, saying such individuals are unfairly labelled as disrespectful or difficult. Her bold stance has once again stirred debate, as fans and critics alike weigh in on her claims.
Known for her outspokenness and frequent run-ins with public scrutiny, Alizeh recently wiped her Instagram clean and announced a break from social media, signaling a possible shift in her public presence.
