Pakistani actress Alizeh Shah has opened up about her mental health, revealing that she is battling post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The Ehd-e-Wafa star said painful experiences in the entertainment industry left her “broken from within.”
In a recent Instagram post, Alizeh shared that grueling 12-hour shoots and mistreatment on set deeply affected her. She explained that these experiences not only harmed her career but also pushed her toward self-hatred.
“People assume I spoke out for more work, but such assumptions cause me immense pain. I am living with PTSD,” she wrote.
Criticism of Showbiz Environment
Alizeh described the entertainment industry as “humiliating” and claimed that during long weekly shoots, she was often made to feel like “nothing.” She stressed that her intention is not to gain sympathy or pity roles but simply to distance herself from the trauma she endured.

“My intention is not to gain new roles but to be left alone, as these memories continue to make me ill,” Alizeh added.
Past Disputes and Controversies
This is not the first time Alizeh Shah has been in the spotlight for personal struggles. In 2021, she alleged that fellow actress Minsa Malik slapped her during a drama shoot. Alizeh retaliated with a sandal, later accusing Malik of damaging her reputation and issuing death threats. The dispute eventually led to a defamation case.
Raising Awareness About PTSD
PTSD is a mental health condition that can develop after traumatic events. Its symptoms include flashbacks, anxiety, depression, and emotional distress. By speaking about her struggles, Alizeh has sparked a wider conversation on workplace stress and mental health in Pakistan’s showbiz industry.
Her candid confession has received mixed reactions online, with many fans expressing sympathy and urging the industry to prioritize the mental well-being of its stars.
