Pakistani TikToker and model Areeka Haq has claimed that some users on the platform intentionally leak their own inappropriate videos to gain fame and go viral.
Speaking in a recent interview, Areeka highlighted this as a troubling and sensitive trend, stating that a number of TikTokers purposely release explicit content to draw media attention and public curiosity.

She explained that while couple videos were once a popular way to gain followers, the trend has shifted, and some creators are now resorting to more controversial tactics for instant recognition.
Areeka clarified that although this behavior is not widespread, there are clear instances suggesting that certain videos were deliberately leaked by the individuals involved.
She went on to say that while she initially believed most women in such situations were victims, she now suspects that a few may have willingly participated—though she emphasized that in the majority of cases, women are genuinely wronged.
Areeka also noted that she has never collaborated with male TikTokers, which she believes protected her from such pressures for fame. She described herself as a careful and thoughtful content creator, conscious of maintaining her dignity and public image.
It is important to mention that in recent months, explicit videos allegedly involving TikTokers such as Minahil Malik, Sajal Malik, Samia Hijab, Amsha Rehman, and Aliza Sahar have surfaced online.
