Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has directed officials to revive the PTV Academy and improve PTV Home. The plan focuses on specialised training, modern facilities, and practical learning opportunities for young people.

The directive came during a high-level meeting chaired by Tarar on Monday. Participants reviewed plans for rebuilding the academy and upgrading PTV Home through industry-focused training programmes.

Federal Secretary for Information Ashfaq Ahmed Khalil also attended the meeting. Senior officials from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting were present as well.

During the meeting, officials discussed several training models involving private-sector partners. These programmes aim to provide young people with practical professional skills.

The proposed arrangements could also help Pakistan Television develop new sources of revenue. Officials discussed ways to combine professional education with commercial opportunities.

Attaullah Tarar said the initiatives reflected the government’s commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s media and creative industries. He stressed the importance of preparing young people for changing industry requirements.

Pakistan to Introduce Advanced Colour Grading Training

Tarar announced that Pakistan would introduce an advanced colour grading training programme for the first time. He said professionals previously travelled abroad to access specialised training and modern facilities.

The proposed programme aims to provide local professionals with access to advanced technical education. It could also help develop skills within Pakistan’s film and television industry.

The minister directed officials to launch a transparent and practical pilot project. The project will be developed in collaboration with the private sector.

He said training programmes must remain connected to the industry’s changing needs. This approach would help ensure that students gain relevant professional experience.

Modern Classrooms and Studio Laboratories Planned

The meeting also reviewed proposals for upgrading the academy’s training infrastructure. These plans include modern classrooms and studio laboratories.

Officials also discussed installing workstations for students and hiring technical staff. Professional trainers would be recruited to support practical learning activities.

A comprehensive curriculum is also part of the proposed development plan. It will cover several areas of media production and digital content creation.

Tarar said equipping young people with practical skills remained a key priority. These skills would include filmmaking, drama production, editing, colour grading, and digital content creation.

The proposed facilities are expected to support hands-on training. Students would gain opportunities to work with modern equipment and professional guidance.

Young Creators May Get Opportunities on PTV Platforms

The minister also highlighted opportunities for students to present their creative work. He said young people’s projects would be encouraged for broadcast across Pakistan Television platforms.

These platforms include PTV News and PTV Home. Other Pakistan Television channels may also provide opportunities to emerging talent.

The initiative aims to connect young creators with wider audiences. It could also help students gain practical exposure to the television industry.

Attaullah Tarar said the academy’s revival and PTV Home’s revamping would support the country’s creative sector. The proposed training programmes will focus on professional skills and industry requirements.

Officials will now work on the pilot project and proposed facilities. Further implementation details are expected as the plans move forward.
