Australian Woman Breaks Guinness World Record with Over 7,000 Pull-Ups

Australian fitness enthusiast Olivia Vinson, 34, has made global headlines by breaking the Guinness World Record for the highest number of pull-ups done by a woman in 24 hours—achieving an incredible 7,079 repetitions, almost doubling the previous benchmark of 4,081 set by Poland’s Paula Gorlo in 2021.

Initially skeptical when her husband and coach suggested the challenge, Vinson admitted she laughed at the idea. But after crunching the numbers, she realized it might actually be within reach.

Her first attempt was cut short at the 12-hour mark due to a bicep tendon injury, which forced her to take a two-month break from training. Undaunted, she resumed her preparation and launched a second attempt. Even when she was hit with extreme fatigue and nausea 19 hours in, she persevered—maintaining a pace of roughly five pull-ups per minute.

Reflecting on her achievement, Vinson said it showcased what the human body and mind can accomplish when pushed to their limits. “I never thought this number was possible when I started,” she said. “But world records give us something concrete to strive for—they reveal what we’re truly capable of.”
