Ayesha Omar Clarifies ‘Lazawal Ishq’ Is Not a Dating Show

Ayesha Omar Clarifies 'Lazawal Ishq' Is Not a Dating Show

Pakistani actress and model Ayesha Omar has denied claims that her upcoming Urdu-language reality programme Lazawal Ishq is a dating show. The announcement comes amid growing social media debate and media speculation.

In an exclusive interview, Ayesha Omar said the show’s concept had been misrepresented. β€œSome news outlets are claiming it is a Pakistani dating show, but that’s not true. Not once did I say it is a dating show,” she explained.

The show is designed to promote meaningful communication and long-term relationship building aimed at marriage. Ayesha Omar emphasized that Lazawal Ishq is not inspired by Western dating formats like Love Island. Instead, it focuses on participants forming genuine connections.

While the format involves participants living in a villa, the setup respects cultural values. Floors and dorms are segregated by gender, with shared spaces limited to the lounge, kitchen, and pool area. β€œThis ensures privacy while allowing interaction,” Omar said.

She added that similar concepts have aired on Pakistani television, where young adults live together but maintain separate sleeping arrangements. The show is intended as a social experiment highlighting how young people communicate, make mistakes, and learn from them.

No pre-decided couples are involved. Relationships develop naturally as participants interact and build trust, with the ultimate goal being marriage. β€œCouples are not already made by us. Participants will get into dedicated relationships for marriage through communication,” Omar clarified.

The teaser of Lazawal Ishq showed four men and four women living in a luxurious Turkish villa. The show will feature challenges, games, alliances, and emotional growth, ultimately selecting a β€œwinning couple.” Omar was seen enjoying scenic views and describing the show as a search for eternal love.

Lazawal Ishq will stream exclusively on YouTube and is expected to run for around 100 episodes. The official airing date is yet to be announced, but fans are eagerly awaiting the release.

The clarification by Ayesha Omar aims to address misconceptions and highlight the cultural and educational intent behind the programme.
