Why Did Indonesia Impose a 10-Year Entry Ban on Adult Content Creator Bonnie Blue

KARACHI โ€“ Indonesian authorities have banned adult content creator Tia Belanger, widely known as Bonnie Blue, from entering the country for 10 years. The decision followed an investigation into alleged violations during her stay in Bali.

According to international media reports, Bonnie Blue was detained during a raid on a studio in Bali. The operation was carried out by local law enforcement agencies. During the raid, officials seized cameras and other recording equipment.

Police also examined her mobile phones. They said explicit material was found on the devices. However, she reportedly told authorities the videos were private. She claimed they were not meant for public release or online upload.

A man identified as Liam Andrew was also taken into custody. Police said he was accompanying her at the time of the raid. After investigation, he was not charged with pornography-related offenses. Instead, he was fined for traffic violations.

Authorities said Liam Andrew used an unregistered vehicle. The vehicle was allegedly used for promotional activities. This was found to be a violation of local traffic regulations.

After initial questioning, Bonnie Blue was presented before the Denpasar District Court. Following court proceedings, Indonesian officials ordered her deportation. She was then formally banned from entering Indonesia for a period of 10 years.

Officials accused her of producing content that could disturb public order. They also said the content risked harming local cultural and moral values. Indonesia enforces strict laws related to obscenity and public morality.

Authorities further stated that she entered Indonesia on a visa-on-arrival. This visa does not allow commercial activities. Officials said producing paid or promotional content violated immigration rules.

They added that the 10-year entry ban could be extended. This would depend on future legal assessments and policy decisions.

Indonesia is a Muslim-majority country. It has some of the toughest regulations in the region regarding adult content. Foreign nationals are expected to strictly follow local laws and customs.

Initially, the case carried serious legal risks. Officials said potential charges included long prison sentences and heavy fines. However, the case was later limited to immigration violations only.

After her deportation, Bonnie Blue briefly commented on the incident. She said her trip to Bali had ended. She did not clearly state her future plans.
