Veteran Pakistani actress Bushra Ansari has strongly criticised Indian lyricist Javed Akhtar for blaming Pakistan over the recent attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which left 26 people dead.
While not naming him directly, Bushra shared a video from her fundraising tour in Europe, denouncing Indian celebrities for spreading baseless allegations and fuelling hatred between nations. “You have a few hours to live — and still talk nonsense,” she said, taking a direct jab at Akhtar’s recent speech.
She called out Akhtar for seeking relevance by targeting Pakistan and reminded him of his own struggles in India, including being denied rental housing. Bushra also urged him to follow the example of actors like Naseeruddin Shah and stay silent.
The actress criticised Indian media figures like Arnab Goswami and ex-army officials for promoting anti-Pakistan sentiment, but added that ordinary Indian citizens often express warmth and friendship, unlike their political and media voices.
Her video quickly went viral, with many Pakistanis praising her for defending the country and calling out hate-driven narratives promoted by some Indian public figures.
