Censor Board Clears ‘Sitaaare Zameen Par’ With Key Edits and Modi Quote

Sitaaare Zameen Par

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given clearance to Aamir Khan’s upcoming film Sitaaare Zameen Par, but not without several mandated changes. The board has asked the filmmakers to replace, remove, and revise certain elements before the movie hits the screens.

Key modifications include replacing the term “business woman” with the gender-neutral “business person,” and changing a reference to “Michael Jackson” with the word “Lovebirds.” Additionally, the visual appearance of the word “kamal” has been removed and replaced with “lotus” to avoid political or symbolic misinterpretation.

The CBFC has also directed the filmmakers to delete the original disclaimer and include a revised version with a voiceover for clarity. Most notably, the board has instructed that a quote by Prime Minister Narendra Modi be added following the opening disclaimer.

These changes have stirred conversations online, with some questioning the growing influence of politics on creative content. However, the film remains one of the year’s most anticipated releases.
