Chahat Fateh Ali Khan Threatens Legal Action Against Mathira Over Harassment Allegations

Pakistani internet personality Chahat Fateh Ali Khan has announced his intention to pursue legal action against television host Mathira following her allegations of harassment during his appearance on her show. The controversy arose after Mathira expressed discomfort with Khan’s behavior, which she described as inappropriate.

In a widely shared Instagram video, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan is seen moving closer to Mathira while singing his song Bado Badi. Mathira, visibly uncomfortable, attempts to move away, yet Khan continues to place his arm around her despite her nervous laughter. The footage sparked concerns over Mathira’s personal boundaries, raising accusations of harassment.

In a video titled Mathira Breaks Silence on Harassment by Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, Mathira addressed the incident, stating that she was uncomfortable with the situation, particularly since she does not engage in physical contact like hugging. She further revealed that the video was recorded without her consent, as filming from the back was prohibited on her set.

Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, in response, denied the harassment claims in an Instagram statement. He alleged that Mathira had invited him to the show in an effort to boost its low ratings. He also stated that Mathira initiated physical contact by placing her arm around his waist during a photo session after the show, and that both had laughed during their interaction. Khan claimed the video in question was recorded by Mathira’s crew, not his own.

Khan expressed his disappointment over what he termed a “big accusation” and declared his intention to take the matter to court, asserting, “I did not harass you.” He added that he had consulted his legal team and would be meeting with another solicitor to proceed with the case. Mathira has not yet responded to Khan’s legal threat.

In a related event, popular Pakistani singer Ali Haider dismissed the idea of collaborating with Chahat Fateh Ali Khan during a TV show appearance, stating he would not sing with him, even for Rs200 million. Haider added, “This is Chahat’s moment, and you never know which prayer of his has been accepted by God.”
