Court Prohibits ‘Baja’ Sales Before Independence Day

Court Prohibits 'Baja' Sales Before Independence Day

To ensure a peaceful atmosphere during the ongoing Independence Day festivities, the Court of Judicial Magistrate Malir has taken proactive steps. Responding to growing worries about public disturbances due to excessive horn usage, the court has issued a ban on the sale and acquisition of ‘baja’ or horns within the city.

This legal order highlights the importance of maintaining a serene environment for citizens as they commemorate Independence Day. Acting within the framework of Section 190(2) of the Penal Code, the court has instructed local law enforcement agencies to take appropriate actions against those involved in trading and using horns.

The Station House Officers (SHOs) of Shrafi Goth and Sachal have been explicitly directed to enforce this ban rigorously. The court’s directive stresses the need to control the distribution and usage of horns, particularly during this celebratory period.

The unregulated blaring of horns has been a significant concern during previous Independence Day celebrations. The court’s intervention aims to mitigate the disruptive noise caused by these horns and address the uncontrolled sale of such items.
