Dhoom 4 begins pre-production with Ranbir Kapoor in the lead

The much-anticipated Dhoom 4 has officially entered pre-production under the leadership of Aditya Chopra at Yash Raj Films (YRF). This latest installment, subtitled “Dhoom Reloaded,” promises to reinvigorate the franchise that has transformed the action genre in Indian cinema since its debut in 2004.

Ranbir Kapoor is set to take on the lead role, portraying the antagonist, marking a significant change for the series. Having long shown interest in the project, Ranbir’s involvement has finally been confirmed, with sources stating that Chopra believes he is the perfect choice to carry forward the Dhoom legacy. This reboot will introduce new characters, including two prominent heroes from the younger generation as cop buddies, while the original cast will not be returning.

The film aims to not only be the biggest entry in the Dhoom franchise but also to set a global standard for Indian cinema. The script, developed by Chopra and Vijay Krishna Acharya, is designed to offer a unique cinematic experience. Yash Raj Films plans to finalize a director by mid-2025, with shooting expected to commence in late 2025 or early 2026.

Dhoom 4 marks a significant milestone in Ranbir Kapoor’s career, as it will be his 25th film. The actor is committed to making this silver jubilee project truly special.
