By May 4, the film’s global earnings reached ₹1789 crore. This figure slightly surpassed the ₹1788 crore total of Baahubali 2. The achievement marks a major shift in the all-time earnings chart.
The success of Dhurandhar 2 reflects strong audience support both in India and overseas. In India alone, the film has earned ₹1138 crore net. Its gross collection in the domestic market stands at around ₹1362 crore.
Internationally, the film has also performed well. It has crossed $50 million in global markets. This is notable as it did not release in Gulf countries, which are usually important for Indian films.
Despite the record, the film’s momentum has started to slow. Daily collections in India have dropped to around ₹1 to ₹1.5 crore. The number of screens has also reduced as new films enter cinemas.
Competition from new releases has impacted performance. Films like Bhooth Bangla and Hollywood titles have drawn audience attention. This has reduced footfall for Dhurandhar 2 in recent days.
Trade analysts believe the film may cross ₹1800 crore globally. However, it is not expected to go far beyond that mark. Even so, its position remains strong in the rankings.
At present, Dhurandhar 2 is the second highest-grossing Indian film of all time. The top position is still held by Dangal, which earned around ₹2070 crore worldwide.
The record set by Dangal has remained unbroken for nearly a decade. Industry experts say it may take another major release to challenge it.
