Diego Luna is finding it hard to part ways with Andor, the acclaimed Disney+ series set in the Star Wars universe. As the show gears up for its second and final season, Luna, who plays rebel spy Cassian Andor, shared that the story’s political depth hits especially close to home.
“Oh my God, it’s so pertinent today,” Luna said, emphasizing how the themes remain relevant no matter when they’re released.

Created by Tony Gilroy, Andor was nominated for Best Drama at the Emmys and is praised for its unpredictable writing. Luna lauded Gilroy’s storytelling, saying, “He comes up with an idea that just makes you rethink everything.”
The new season also teases a twisted dynamic between Imperial officers Dedra and Syril, played by Denise Gough and Kyle Soller, sparking fan “shipping.” Gough humorously revealed she learned about the term “shipping” through co-star Ben Mendelsohn, who likened it to The Love Boat.
As Luna wraps up his journey as both actor and executive producer, he admitted the farewell won’t be easy: “I’m going to need therapy to answer it.”
