Prime Video has confirmed that Fallout renews for a third season, continuing the popular video game adaptation. The announcement came ahead of the season 2 finale, delighting fans worldwide.
The series, created by Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner, first premiered in April 2024. Since then, it has become a global hit, attracting more than 100 million viewers on Prime Video. The story follows Lucy MacLean’s journey through the Mojave and New Vegas, picking up where the first season left off.
Amazon MGM Studios officially announced the news in 2025. Vernon Sanders, Global Head of Television, said, “We are absolutely thrilled that our global Prime Video customers will be able to delve deeper into the wonderfully surreal and captivating world of Fallout.” He added that the creators and producers have done an outstanding job bringing the video game universe to life.
Sanders also highlighted the collaboration with Bethesda Games and Bethesda Softworks, saying, “Together with our amazing partners, we are delighted to announce a third season of Fallout, well ahead of the much-anticipated debut of Season Two.”
Fans can expect the storyline to expand further, exploring new challenges and adventures in the post-apocalyptic world. Although no official release date has been provided, executive producer Jonathan Nolan told IGN that production could begin next summer. He noted, “With regards to production, we’re hoping to be shooting again next summer. We’ll see if that all comes together, best laid plans and all.”
The announcement comes as the franchise continues to grow in popularity, drawing attention not only from video game fans but also from a broader streaming audience. Industry analysts say that the success of Fallout renews demonstrates Prime Video’s strategy of leveraging popular gaming IPs for global entertainment.
