Veteran actor Faysal Quraishi has spoken out in defence of fellow star Fawad Khan, who recently faced backlash for his silence during the ongoing India-Pakistan tensions. Addressing the issue at the premiere of his upcoming film Deemak, Quraishi called for understanding and unity rather than criticism.
When asked about the public outrage directed at Fawad Khan and other silent celebrities, Quraishi said that individuals should be allowed to process and respond to national matters in their own way. “Whether someone spoke up, stayed silent, or didn’t time their words right—it’s not our place to judge,” he remarked.

Quraishi expressed disappointment at the targeted criticism toward Fawad Khan and Hania Aamir, saying, “I didn’t like how they were singled out. Fawad isn’t very active on social media, and at that time, his energy was focused on saving his film project Abir Gulaal.”
He further added that both Fawad and Hania did eventually speak up and that constant public pressure is neither fair nor productive. “Let’s focus on what we’re doing for the country, instead of expecting others to prove their loyalty in a particular way,” he concluded.
