Faysal Quraishi Raises Alarm Over AI’s Impact on TV Dramas

Pakistani actor and host Faysal Quraishi has voiced concerns about the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI) in the entertainment industry, particularly in drama serials. During a Ramazan transmission, he highlighted the rise of AI-manipulated videos that distort original scenes, misleading audiences and damaging the credibility of actors and production teams.

Quraishi pointed out how fabricated clips, often taken out of context, are circulating widely. Some of these videos falsely depict intimate moments between actors, sparking outrage and misinformation. Recent AI-generated content targeted popular dramas like Ishq Murshid and Jaan Nisar, showing manipulated scenes that never actually occurred.

The controversy has prompted criticism from audiences and even Pakistan’s media regulator, PEMRA, as deepfake technology continues to be misused. Viral posts on social media condemned the industry, accusing it of pushing boundaries of “nudity and obscenity,” despite the original scenes being far from what AI alterations portrayed.

Quraishi’s concerns underscore the urgent need for regulatory action and industry-wide awareness to tackle AI misuse. As deepfake technology becomes more advanced, protecting the integrity of content and preventing misinformation has become a growing challenge for the entertainment sector.
