Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman, best known for The French Connection and Unforgiven, was found dead at his New Mexico home alongside his wife, Betsy Arakawa, DW reported. Authorities have not disclosed the cause of death but found no signs of foul play.

Hackman, a Hollywood icon of the 1970s, built a career playing gritty, no-nonsense characters. His roles in Bonnie and Clyde, The Conversation, Superman, and Mississippi Burning cemented his legacy. After retiring in 2004, he focused on writing novels.
