Actor Iqra Aziz has taken a firm stand against corporal punishment after a disturbing video surfaced showing a man slapping his child in public for being too loud while skating. The footage caused widespread outrage online, with Iqra being one of the first public figures to denounce the act.
Sharing the video on her Instagram Story, Iqra criticized the deeply rooted culture of physical discipline in desi households. She wrote, “No action is big enough for you to slap or hit your child in public, in front of family or even alone in a room.” Acknowledging how difficult it is for desi parents to break this cycle, Iqra pointed out that many were once punished as children themselves for being too noisy or disobedient.

She stressed that children are not miniature adults but vulnerable beings still learning how to navigate life. “Please understand your child is new to this world at every stage of his/her life. Someone has to break the cycle,” she urged.
