Krystyna Pyszková Crowned Miss World 2024 in Mumbai

Krystyna Pyszková from the Czech Republic emerged victorious as she clinched the prestigious Miss World 2024 crown in Mumbai, India on March 9th, outshining 111 other contestants. The 23-year-old law student was bestowed with the glittering crown by her predecessor, Karolina Bielawska of Poland, marking the 71st edition of the Miss World pageant. Yasmina Zeytoun of Lebanon secured the First Runner Up position.

The grand ceremony, held at the Jio World Convention Centre in BKC, Mumbai, was graced by a galaxy of stars and dignitaries. Hosted by Karan Johar and Former Miss World Megan Young, the event witnessed electrifying performances and was attended by an illustrious panel of judges including Kriti Sanon, Manushi Chhillar, Pooja Hegde, Harbhajan Singh, and others.

The journey to the crown was arduous, with contestants competing in various rounds that tested their fitness, beauty, talent, and public speaking skills. Following rigorous evaluations, the top 40 contestants were selected, further narrowed down to the top 12 and eventually to the top 8. The finalists then faced a challenging Q&A session, addressing pertinent topics discussed at the recent G20 Summit.

In the final stage, the top 4 contestants presented their philanthropic platforms to a panel of business moguls from Shark Tank India. Pyszková’s impactful project focused on destigmatizing menstruation, emphasizing that “being a woman is a gift” and advocating for open conversations about periods.

Hindustan Times reported that Pyszková’s Beauty With A Purpose project concentrated on her efforts in Tanzania, where she contributed to promoting quality education by inaugurating a school. Additionally, she has established her foundation in the Czech Republic, offering educational programs for children, the elderly, and mentally disabled individuals.

Apart from her academic pursuits in law and business administration, Pyszková is also a talented musician with a passion for art. She plays the flute and violin and has spent nine years in an Art Academy, further enriching her cultural experiences.

Reflecting on her time in India, Pyszková expressed her admiration for the vibrant culture and meaningful projects she encountered, particularly highlighting her visit to the Dharavi Project, where she interacted with aspiring children pursuing their dreams through music.

Acknowledging the weight of responsibility that comes with the Miss World crown, Pyszková pledged to work tirelessly to fulfill her duties as an advocate for important causes. She becomes the second Miss World from the Czech Republic, following Tatana Kucharova’s win in 2006. India, which last hosted the event in 1996, boasts a rich legacy in the pageant, with six titleholders to its credit.
