ISLAMABAD: The Cabinet Division has released the Toshakhana record for April to June 2026, revealing the diplomatic gifts received by senior government officials during the period. The official record shows that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar were among those who received gifts from foreign dignitaries.
According to the released details, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received several diplomatic items, including a model of China’s space station. The list also includes a wristwatch, a decorative cup, a shield, a sugar bowl, a premium pen, a model of Masjid-e-Nabawi, and a necktie.
The model of China’s space station was among the notable gifts mentioned in the official Toshakhana record. The Cabinet Division has not yet announced the monetary value of the items, as the assessment process is still underway.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar also received several diplomatic gifts during the same period. According to the official record, these included a leather belt from China, a model of an Egyptian statue, and a pair of cufflinks.
The Cabinet Division stated that a total of 21 gifts were received by senior government officials between March and June 2026. These gifts were presented during official meetings and diplomatic engagements with foreign representatives.
Officials confirmed that all gifts received by the prime minister and deputy prime minister have been deposited in the Toshakhana. The items remain in official custody while the valuation process is completed.
Under Pakistan’s Toshakhana rules, diplomatic gifts are first assessed by the Cabinet Division to determine their value. After the valuation is completed, recipients may be allowed to retain certain items by paying the amount required under the applicable regulations. If they choose not to retain the gifts, the items remain part of the Toshakhana collection.
The Cabinet Division said the valuation exercise is currently in progress. No final decision has yet been made regarding whether the prime minister or deputy prime minister will retain any of the gifts.
The release of the Toshakhana record is part of the government’s efforts to disclose details of official gifts received by public office holders. Such records provide information about diplomatic exchanges that take place during official visits and meetings.
Diplomatic gifts often reflect the cultural heritage and traditions of the countries presenting them. They may include decorative items, souvenirs, artwork, or symbolic models representing national achievements.
The inclusion of a model of China’s space station highlights the scientific and technological significance associated with one of Beijing’s major space projects. Similarly, the other gifts represent traditional diplomatic exchanges between countries.
