Pakistan’s longest-running grassroots music festival, Lahooti Melo, is set to make a grand return to Larkana on February 15-16, 2025. The festival, founded by Sketches frontman Saif Samejo and Sana Khoja, will take place at the Police Training School, bringing together a mix of traditional and contemporary music, storytelling, and cultural discussions.
This year’s lineup features a blend of local and international artists, including Shae Gill, German DJ Sabrina Terence, Indonesian DJ Amara Lovenga, and Sindhi folk legends like Sajan Sindhi and Ghulam Shabbir Samo. Ittehad Band, known for their Lahooti debut and mainstream success, will also perform, alongside Larkana’s rising star Arslan Shykh. The event continues its mission of providing a platform for emerging talent while celebrating Pakistan’s diverse musical heritage.

Beyond music, Lahooti Melo 2025 will host panel discussions on cultural narratives, digital archiving, and the evolving role of influencers. Sessions like “Larkano Saah Sebano” will highlight the region’s literary contributions, while discussions on inclusive storytelling in film and TV will explore how mainstream media represents regional cultures.
The festival’s impact extends beyond the stage, boosting local businesses and tourism in host cities. With guesthouses filling up and markets preparing for visitors, Lahooti Melo reaffirms its role in reclaiming public spaces for art and conversation. As Saif Samejo puts it, “Hope isn’t naive – it’s an act of defiance.”
