Mexican social media influencer Valeria Márquez was tragically killed while livestreaming on TikTok, after being shot by unidentified attackers.
The 23-year-old was reportedly in her beauty salon in Jalisco, Mexico, when an armed individual entered and opened fire before fleeing the scene. Authorities are treating the incident as femicide—defined as the targeted killing of women due to their gender.

In the viral footage, Valeria can be seen playing with a toy moments before the shooting. A voice calls out “Hey Vale,” to which she replies “yes,” followed by gunshots. She died instantly.
Valeria had amassed close to 200,000 followers across TikTok and Instagram, where she was known for beauty content and salon-related videos.
