In a recent conversation with an international media outlet, Miss Pakistan World Areej Chaudhary shared some unexpected insights about the selection process in beauty pageants.
Responding to criticism with poise, she remarked, “People have the right to express their views—I see criticism as a way to grow and better myself.”

She clarified that physical appearance alone does not determine who gets selected in such competitions. “Contestants are required to complete various tasks, which play a crucial role in the evaluation process,” she said.
Areej also disclosed that a significant portion—about 80%—of the judging criteria is based on humanitarian efforts. “Judges assess how involved participants are in charitable activities within their own countries,” she revealed. Contestants are even given time during the pageant to carry out social work, and those who perform their duties more efficiently tend to score higher.
Reflecting on her achievement, Areej expressed pride, saying, “Winning the Miss Pakistan World title is something I still hold close to my heart. It was the outcome of consistent hard work and determination.”
