Pakistani TikToker Mr Patlu has sparked an online debate after appearing in a wheelchair at the Islamabad High Court (IHC). His appearance came during legal proceedings connected to the deadly Sialkot wedding stampede.
A video showing the TikToker wearing a face mask and communicating through hand gestures has attracted widespread attention. Several social media users questioned his physical condition and compared his court appearance with earlier videos.
Muhammad Ansar Jatt, popularly known as Mr Patlu, appeared before the court on Tuesday. He was seeking protective bail in connection with the Sialkot incident.
The TikToker arrived at the court in a wheelchair. He wore a cap and face mask while journalists attempted to ask him questions. However, he did not respond verbally and communicated through hand movements.
Mr Patlu’s Wheelchair Video Sparks Social Media Debate
Footage from the Islamabad High Court quickly circulated across social media platforms. Users shared different opinions about his appearance and behaviour during the court proceedings.
Some viewers compared the footage with his previous social media videos. They pointed out that he previously appeared confident while speaking directly to his followers.
Several users questioned the noticeable difference between his earlier videos and recent court appearance. Others accused him of pretending to be unwell to gain public sympathy.
One social media user commented, “He pulled a Zardari move in order to get bail.”
Another user highlighted the contrast between his previous confidence and his behaviour outside the courtroom. Some people also questioned why ordinary citizens rarely receive similar public sympathy.
However, these comments represent individual opinions expressed online. They do not establish that the TikToker was pretending to be ill.
His actual medical condition cannot be determined through the circulated video alone. Therefore, claims about his health should not be treated as confirmed facts.
Islamabad High Court Grants Protective Bail
Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court granted Mr Patlu protective bail until November 10. The court also directed him to approach the relevant court in Sialkot.
The temporary relief allows him to pursue further legal remedies before the appropriate judicial forum. However, protective bail does not mean that he has been cleared of the allegations.
The legal proceedings remain connected to the deadly stampede during a mehndi ceremony in Sialkot.
Details of the Deadly Sialkot Wedding Stampede
The tragic incident occurred at Faraz Cricket Ground on Daska Road in Sialkot. It happened during a mehndi and prize-distribution event associated with the TikToker.
The stampede claimed two lives and left another 18 people injured. The incident triggered public outrage and raised serious questions about event management.
Police subsequently registered a case against Mr Patlu and other event organisers. Authorities launched an investigation to examine the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
The case has also brought attention to crowd management and safety arrangements at large gatherings.
Meanwhile, the TikToker’s wheelchair appearance has added another dimension to the ongoing public discussion. His legal proceedings and the investigation into the stampede remain separate from social media speculation.
Further developments in the case are expected as the legal process continues.
