In Islamabad, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Human Rights and Women Empowerment, highlighted the crucial role women play in society, emphasizing their significant contributions to the social, economic, and cultural spheres globally. She delivered these remarks during the “Women Day Celebration” organized by Pak Gulf Construction Pvt Ltd to commemorate International Womenโs Day, observed annually on March 8.
The event served as a platform to honor the achievements and resilience of women around the world and provided an opportunity to reflect on the progress made towards gender equality in Pakistan, while acknowledging the challenges that persist. During her address, the Special Assistant stressed the importance of empowering women as a means to establish inclusive and equitable societies. She underscored the need to invest in women’s education, healthcare, and overall well-being to achieve these goals.
Mushaal Hussein Mullick also drew attention to the challenging circumstances faced by people, particularly women, in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), where severe human rights violations are perpetrated by Indian occupation forces. Despite the oppression, she highlighted the significant roles assumed by women in the Kashmiri freedom struggle.
Pointing to the resilience and determination of Kashmiri women, she suggested that their unwavering spirit could serve as inspiration for women facing adversities globally. The event not only celebrated the accomplishments of women but also shed light on the importance of recognizing and addressing the challenges that persist in ensuring gender equality and women’s empowerment.
