Nora Fatehi Faces Rs300m Defamation Lawsuit Over Chartered Plane Remarks

Nora Fatehi Faces Rs300m Defamation Lawsuit Over Chartered Plane Remarks

MUMBAI โ€“ Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi is facing a Rs300 million damages lawsuit. An aviation company has filed the case over her social media comments.

The company has accused Nora Fatehi of making defamatory remarks about a chartered aircraft. The matter is scheduled for hearing in Gandhinagar on September 25.

The dispute reportedly dates back to December last year. Fatehi had travelled on a chartered flight from Mumbai to Jaipur.

During the journey, she recorded videos inside the aircraft. She later shared the videos with her followers on Instagram.

In her posts, Fatehi reportedly made comments about the aircraftโ€™s size and appearance. She described it as a โ€œsmall toyโ€ and called it a โ€œLego airplane.โ€

The aviation company has challenged those remarks in court. It claims the comments were irresponsible and lacked a technical basis.

According to the company, the statements did not accurately reflect the aircraftโ€™s condition. It also raised concerns about the potential impact of her large social media following.

Company Claims Business Losses

The aviation company highlighted Fatehiโ€™s significant online reach in its petition. She reportedly has more than 46 million social media followers.

The company claims her comments received widespread attention. It alleges that the remarks harmed its reputation and affected its business.

According to the petition, flight bookings declined by around 15 to 20 percent. The company also reported an increase in cancellations following the incident.

The aviation firm has defended the aircraft involved in the dispute. It said the plane was fully fit for passenger operations.

The company also stated that the aircraft had received certification from Indiaโ€™s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

It further maintained that all required safety and operational procedures were followed. The company has therefore rejected any suggestion that the aircraft was unsafe.

Demands Made in the Lawsuit

The aviation company is seeking Rs300 million in damages from the actress. It has also requested additional orders from the court.

The company wants Fatehi to remove the allegedly defamatory videos from her social media accounts. It has also sought removal of other related material.

Another request asks the actress to issue a public clarification. The company wants her to address the comments that it says damaged its reputation.

Nora Fatehi has been named in the legal dispute following the aircraft-related posts. The court will consider the matter during its upcoming hearing.

The case is expected to receive attention because of the amount involved. It also involves claims concerning social media comments and their alleged commercial impact.

The Gandhinagar court is scheduled to hear the case on September 25. Further proceedings will determine how the dispute develops.
