Lollywood actress Alizeh Shah has made a heartfelt plea ahead of Eid ul Adha, encouraging people to show more compassion and awareness in how animal sacrifices are performed and portrayed during the festival.
In an emotional message shared via her Instagram story, the Ehd-e-Wafaa star reflected on the traditional practice of Qurbani, urging the public to approach it with kindness and mindfulness. While fully respecting the religious importance of the ritual, Shah voiced her discomfort over how Qurbani is often executed in public spaces and displayed on social media.

“Each year, I witness pain on the streets—animals bleeding, terrified, crying out—and it breaks my heart,” she wrote.
She emphasized that animals are creations of the same loving God who created humans and expressed sadness over how their suffering is frequently turned into content for memes and jokes online. This, she explained, makes the ritual difficult for her to accept emotionally.
Known for her sensitive nature, Shah raised concerns about how public sacrifices affect not only the animals but also those who witness such scenes. She reminded followers that Qurbani, though a highly respected Sunnah rooted in the story of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.), is not mandatory for everyone and should be performed with sincerity and responsibility, especially by those who are financially capable.
Alizeh clarified that her sentiments are personal reflections, not an attack on the tradition, and called for a shift in focus during Eid—from large-scale sacrifices to values like empathy, humility, and generosity.
