Pakistan Cricketer Sidra Amin's Father Passes Away

Sidra Amin, the opener for Pakistan’s women’s cricket team, is mourning the loss of her father. The cricketer shared the heartbreaking news on social media, asking fans and fellow cricketers to pray for her father’s soul.

She wrote, “May Allah grant my father forgiveness and elevate his rank in Jannah, InshaAllah!” seeking support during this tough time.

Her father’s funeral prayer will take place at 2:00 PM today, with close family members in attendance.

Sidra Amin, a right-handed batter, reached 1,000 ODI runs in June 2022, becoming Pakistan’s seventh-highest run-scorer in ODIs.

She has played domestic cricket for several teams, including Lahore, Higher Education Commission, Punjab, Omar Associates, and the State Bank of Pakistan, maintaining consistent performance across formats.

Sidra made her international debut during the 2013 ICC Women’s World Cup, playing four matches. She was later named to Pakistan’s squads for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2018, the World Cup Qualifiers in 2021, and the Women’s Cricket World Cup in 2022.

Her career highlights include a maiden ODI century against Bangladesh in the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup and another century against Sri Lanka in June 2022, helping her surpass the 1,000-run mark.

In 2024, she was included in Pakistan’s squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, further cementing her importance to the team.
