Sardaar Ji 3

Diljit Dosanjh has embraced the overwhelming support from Pakistan for his latest film Sardaar Ji 3, despite facing harsh criticism and calls for boycotts in India. The film, which stars Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, skipped Indian cinemas due to rising political tensions but has broken records overseas.

Released on June 27, the supernatural Punjabi comedy collected Rs4.5 crore on its opening day in Pakistan, making it the highest-grossing Indian film debut in the country. Globally, the film earned Rs11.03 crore in just two days, showing strong performance despite the controversy.

On Sunday, Diljit reshared a video from Universal Cinemas showing jam-packed theatres in Lahore and Islamabad, with excited audiences cheering for the film. The clip highlighted Hania Aamir’s grand entrance, suggesting a bold statement from Diljit in response to Indian backlash.

Back in India, film federations have condemned the casting of a Pakistani actress, pressuring producers of upcoming projects to drop Diljit. However, the actor defended the film’s timing, stating it was shot earlier in the year when political tensions hadn’t yet escalated.
