KARACHI – July 22, 2025: Police discover white powder during a search of late actress Humaira Asghar’s apartment in Karachi’s DHA area. The discovery was made while collecting evidence related to her sudden and tragic death earlier this month.
Humaira Asghar’s body was recovered on July 8, 2025, after police and a court bailiff entered her locked apartment. The entry was made to enforce an eviction order due to unpaid rent dating back to April 2024. Her fourth-floor flat was located in the Ittehad Commercial Area of DHA, Karachi.
Neighbors had reported a foul smell, but the adjacent apartment had remained unoccupied until February 2025, which may have delayed detection of her death. Both the main and balcony doors were locked from the inside, leading investigators to believe she was alone when she died.
During their investigation, police found white powder stored in three to four clay vessels inside the flat. Officials stated that the substance has been sent to a laboratory for chemical testing. They added that only a complete chemical analysis will confirm what the powder actually is.
At this point, police say there is no clear explanation for why the white powder was present. However, they noted that the strong odor from the body might be linked to the substance.
Authorities have not yet drawn any conclusions about the powder’s nature or role, if any, in Humaira’s death. Investigators are waiting for lab results before making further statements.
