Prince Harry is currently facing criticism for allegedly accepting the commercialization of his late mother’s legacy.
These allegations were put forth by royal commentator Daniela Elser in one of her articles on News.com.au. Within her piece, she examined the contrasting approaches of Prince William and Prince Harry in handling matters related to Princess Diana.
Elser expressed, “This must be especially challenging for the 41-year-old climate advocate and likely carpooling dad.” She highlighted that “While Prince William has never publicly commented on the Netflix series, he has a history of strongly condemning those who exploit his mother’s memory for personal gain.”

Prince William’s stance on the issue has been articulated in public only a few times, with a notable instance in 2021 in response to the Martin Bashir Panorama interview.
On the other hand, Prince Harry appears to be less affected by such exploitation, as observed by Ms. Elser.
For those unfamiliar with Prince William’s perspective, a friend of the future king, quoted by The Daily Beast’s Tom Sykes, stated, “It’s extremely painful to see his mother being repeatedly exploited in this tasteless manner by Netflix. He won’t watch it, but he will find it deeply offensive.”
