Rajab Butt Faces Fresh Backlash After Hina Parvez Butt's Remarks on Family Vlogs

Punjab Assembly member Hina Parvez Butt has criticized popular YouTuber Rajab Butt and his family’s online content, saying family vlogs and staged prank videos may have a harmful impact on children.

The latest debate began after a prank video shared by Rajab Butt’s family went viral on social media. In the vlog, Rajab Butt’s mother appeared to lose consciousness during a staged incident. The video later revealed that the scene had been planned as part of a prank, with his mother getting up and laughing at the end.

The clip quickly gained attention online and sparked mixed reactions from viewers. While some users found the video entertaining, others questioned whether such content was appropriate for young audiences.

Reacting to the viral clip, Hina Parvez Butt expressed concern about the growing popularity of sensational family content on social media. She said many creators produce dramatic videos mainly to attract views and increase their online earnings.

According to Hina Parvez Butt, children are among the biggest viewers of such content. She said youngsters as young as eight years old regularly watch these videos, raising concerns about their influence on children’s values and behavior.

She argued that family vloggers should understand their responsibility toward young audiences. She also questioned whether creating controversial or staged content for entertainment sends the right message to children.

The Punjab Assembly member said such videos may negatively affect the moral upbringing of young viewers. She added that content creators should focus on producing material that contributes positively to society instead of relying on sensational stories.

Her comments have generated fresh discussion on social media. Some users agreed with her concerns and urged parents to monitor what their children watch online. Others suggested that viewers who dislike such content should simply unfollow or block the creators.

Some social media users also called for stronger regulations regarding online content aimed at children. Others defended the YouTubers, saying viewers understand that many prank videos are scripted for entertainment purposes.

This is not the first time Hina Parvez Butt has spoken about the influence of social media personalities. In an earlier post on X, formerly Twitter, she questioned the growing popularity of certain influencers among Pakistani youth.

At that time, she shared images of Rajab Butt along with Ali Hyderabadi and Sami Rasheed. She described them as poor role models and urged parents to pay closer attention to the digital content their children consume.

She also encouraged families to guide children toward educational and positive online content. According to her, parents should remain actively involved in monitoring their children’s social media habits.
