Bollywood stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have increased security at their Mumbai residence following a threatening WhatsApp voice message demanding a large sum of money.
The warning reportedly came after the success of Ranveer Singh’s film Dhurandhar, prompting the couple to immediately notify police authorities. Officials have launched an investigation to identify the sender of the threat.
The message included a demand for a substantial ransom, which led Mumbai Police to boost security around the actors’ home. A letter from the housing society noted that six armed security personnel were deployed outside their residence without prior approval. Additionally, a uniformed police officer was assigned to assist the private security team.
The Mumbai Police confirmed the investigation relates to a property in the Beau Monde building in Prabhadevi, Mumbai, where Ranveer Singh resides. Authorities are taking the matter seriously and have assured the public that security measures remain in place to protect the family.
Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar has been one of the highest-grossing films of 2025, generating significant public attention. Preparations for the sequel, Dhurandhar 2, are already underway. Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone, who returned to films after the birth of her daughter with Singham Again in September 2024, will soon star alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the upcoming film King.
Industry sources say the heightened security is a precautionary measure, ensuring both stars are safe at home while maintaining privacy. Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
