Saheefa Jabbar Defends Herself Amid Backlash Over Charity Incident

Pakistani actress Saheefa Jabbar has hit back at critics after facing backlash for sharing how her domestic worker spent a PKR 50,000 charity amount she had given for essential needs. Saheefa had initially provided the money to help repair the worker’s home, which had no roof and leaked during rains. However, the worker chose to spend the money on clothes, a bicycle for her child, Eid shopping, and a suit for her husband.

The revelation sparked criticism on social media, with many users arguing that Saheefa had no right to dictate how the worker used the funds. Some suggested that the actress should have allowed the woman and her family to enjoy their Eid without public interference.

In response, Saheefa took to Instagram to address the backlash, issuing a strong statement against the online harassment she has been facing. “Before criticizing me, understand this—I will not allow anyone to publicly harass me or twist my words to fit their agenda,” she wrote. She also emphasized the value of financial responsibility, explaining that her intention was to help the worker secure her family’s future.

Saheefa highlighted the importance of saving money for essential needs, such as health and education, and expressed her frustration with the double standards on social media. “You celebrate influencers showing off extravagant lifestyles but attack me for talking about financial responsibility?” she questioned.

The actress also criticized fellow celebrities for their lavish lifestyles while simultaneously collecting donations in the name of charity, calling for more accountability in such matters.
