Veteran actor Samina Peerzada has strongly condemned the culture of body-shaming and ageism, urging people to stop calling others “old and ugly.” Appearing on a talk show alongside Sonya Hussyn, the Deemak co-stars shared their frustration with the relentless negativity seen on social media.
“No one has the right to comment on someone’s looks or age,” said Samina. “In acting, age doesn’t matter—you just play your character.” She criticised those who tell seniors to step aside, calling it both baseless and offensive.

Sonya echoed Samina’s sentiments, saying that people feel entitled to comment on everything. “You need to know what to ignore and what to take positively,” she advised.
Samina highlighted the double standards older women face, praising Bushra Ansari for her confidence and energy. “If someone looks after themselves and stays full of life—what’s wrong with that? We should admire it,” she said.
