MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film King is attracting attention following reports that its 45-second promotional clip has received approval from India’s Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

According to reports by Variety India and Moneycontrol, the short video could be released on November 2, coinciding with the actor’s birthday. There is also speculation that the promo may be shown in cinemas alongside Ramayana, the upcoming mythological film starring Ranbir Kapoor.

However, the production team has not officially announced when the promotional video will be released or confirmed whether it will accompany theatrical screenings of Ramayana.

The reported certification has increased curiosity among fans eager to see new footage from the action thriller. The film is currently scheduled for a theatrical release on December 24, 2026.

November 2 holds particular significance for the project because the filmmakers previously unveiled the King title announcement on Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday in 2025. The video introduced the actor with silver hair, dramatic visuals and an intense screen presence, offering an early glimpse of the film’s tone.

This earlier announcement has led fans to speculate that the makers could choose the same occasion to share another update. If the reports prove accurate, the new 45-second clip could provide additional insight into Khan’s character and the film’s action-driven storyline.

The possible association with Ramayana has also attracted interest. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama. Reports suggest that the King promotional video could be attached to screenings of the epic, potentially allowing it to reach cinema audiences before its own release.

Nevertheless, the reported promotional arrangement remains unconfirmed. Receiving certification from the CBFC does not automatically mean that a video will be released on a particular date or screened in selected cinemas.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, King is backed by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures. The project brings Anand and Shah Rukh Khan together again following their collaboration on Pathaan.

The film features Suhana Khan alongside her father. Other reported cast members include Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff.

With its December release approaching, King remains one of the highly anticipated Hindi films of 2026. Fans are now waiting for an official update about its next promotional campaign.

Until the filmmakers confirm the schedule, the proposed November 2 launch and the possibility of a cinema release alongside Ramayana should be treated as media reports rather than confirmed plans.
