Following the deadly missile attack launched by India that claimed the lives of 26 civilians in Pakistan, celebrated Pakistani actress Mahira Khan took to social media to voice her strong disapproval of the assault and the persistent climate of hate and violence from India.
In an emotional tweet, Khan expressed, “I’m thankful to live in a country where I’m free to speak my mind. I have a voice and I CAN use it. We stand up against injustices in our own country, and we denounce violence no matter where it occurs—even when Pakistan is blamed without any proof.”

The missile strike, which hit several civilian areas, has sparked outrage in Pakistan and globally, especially among human rights groups. The attack left 26 people dead, including women and children, with many more injured. The strike has further exacerbated tensions between the two nuclear-powered nations.
A long-time advocate for peace and justice, Khan highlighted the longstanding conflict between Pakistan and India, saying, “India, your rhetoric of war and hate has persisted for years. I’ve witnessed it firsthand. Your media fuels division. The powerful voices in your country stay silent in the face of genocide and war crimes—not because of the law, but out of fear!”
Khan also criticized Indian leaders for their silence in the face of such violence, accusing them of complicity. “In that silence, you claim victory, but to me, it’s your biggest defeat,” she said.
Despite the provocation, Khan urged restraint from Pakistan, urging her fellow citizens to avoid responding with violence. “My Pakistan, I love you. May we make the right choices. May we never lower ourselves to their level, even after this heinous act. May peace prevail. Ameen. Pakistan Zindabad. Pakistan Paaindabad.”
