Addressing recent uncertainties surrounding the film’s production, Kafeel Anwar, producer of ‘Rawalpindi Express’ and Managing Director of Q Film Productions, commented on the arduous yet rewarding journey. “Completing the production of this film was not an easy task,” he stated. “When you are producing a film about a legend as significant as Shoaib Akhtar, the margin for error is zero. We were fortunate to build a dedicated team in Pakistan that worked tirelessly to bring it to completion.”

To reassure the public, Anwar emphasized that they possess all the necessary legal rights to produce and release this film. “If we didn’t have the legal rights, we wouldn’t have been able to complete the production,” he affirmed. Regarding fan speculations about a circulating legal notice, there is currently no evidence supporting such claims.

In terms of the film’s release, Anwar confirmed that ‘Rawalpindi Express’ will premiere internationally later this year, heightening excitement among cricket enthusiasts and cinema lovers alike.

The Shoaib Akhtar biopic boasts an exceptional ensemble cast, with Mirza Gohar Rasheed, renowned for his role in ‘Maula Jatt,’ taking on the lead. Joining him are distinguished actors such as Pakistani-Hollywood actor Faran Tahir, legendary Salman Shahid, veteran Usman Pirzada, Pakistani cinema notable Saleem Mairaj, feature film debutante Rabita Ali, celebrated 76th Cannes Film Festival participant Adnan Shah Tipu, and versatile YouTuber, singer, actor, and host Rahim Pardesi. This stellar cast forms the core of ‘Rawalpindi Express,’ promising an unforgettable cinematic experience.

Faraz Qaiser, the Director of ‘Rawalpindi Express,’ expressed his exhilaration, saying, “Completing the shooting of our dream project – ‘Rawalpindi Express’ – fills me with both thrill and satisfaction.” Crafting a biopic, he acknowledged, is a formidable challenge for any filmmaker. He extended gratitude to Shoaib Akhtar for sharing his life story and adversities, emphasizing the responsibility of translating this narrative into a captivating cinematic journey. “I firmly believe we’ve achieved that goal,” he added, “but the ultimate verdict rests with the audience.”

The production was a monumental undertaking, spanning 68 days of filming and involving over 250 individuals in the cast and crew. Faraz Qaiser deemed it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to direct exceptional talents from both international and Pakistani film industries, with every actor delivering precisely what was envisioned for the film.

‘Rawalpindi Express’ is set to chronicle the extraordinary journey of the cricketing legend. The film derives its title from Shoaib Akhtar’s moniker in the cricketing world, paying homage to his roots in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Of notable anticipation is Shoaib Akhtar’s world-record-breaking feat of bowling the fastest ball at 161.3 km/h during a 2003 World Cup group match against England, adding to the excitement surrounding this cinematic tribute.

As the film’s completion marks an exciting step closer to its premiere, fans and cinephiles eagerly await the opportunity to witness the compelling life story of a cricketing icon on the silver screen.
