Police in Los Angeles have opened an investigation after a car found with decomposing body was linked to American singer D4vd.
Authorities confirmed that the remains were discovered on Monday afternoon inside the front trunk of a Tesla. The vehicle had been impounded days earlier from the Hollywood area after being left unattended. Tow yard workers reported a strong smell, which led officers to search the car.
The Tesla is registered to 20-year-old singer David Anthony Burke, better known as D4vd. He rose to fame with viral hits such as Romantic Homicide and Here With Me. Police said the body was wrapped in a bag, but the identity of the victim has not yet been determined due to the state of decomposition.
According to LAPD officials, the discovery is being treated as a death investigation. Forensic experts are working to establish the cause of death and identify the individual. No direct link between the artist and the deceased has been reported so far.
A representative for D4vd confirmed that the singer has been notified of the situation. They said he is cooperating with authorities despite being on tour. “He has been informed and is fully cooperating,” the spokesperson stated.
D4vd is currently on his Withered tour and is scheduled to perform in Minneapolis on Tuesday. The tour is set to continue with a stop in Los Angeles later this month.
The case has drawn significant public attention due to the celebrity connection and the disturbing nature of the discovery. Investigators have not released any details on how the body came to be inside the car. Updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
