Squid Game 2 Faces Criticism Over Cast Members’ Controversial Histories

Squid Game

Netflix’s Squid Game 2 has sparked controversy due to the past scandals of several male cast members, overshadowing its December 26 premiere. The latest backlash came after actor Park Sung-hoon accidentally posted explicit content on social media, which his agency attributed to a mistake while managing direct messages.

Criticism isn’t limited to Park. Other cast members, such as T.O.P, Lee Jung-jae, Lee Jin-wook, and Lee Byung-hun, have faced allegations of drug use, DUIs, and sexual misconduct in the past. While some charges were dropped, fans are questioning the show’s casting decisions.

The portrayal of Hyun Joo, a transgender ex-soldier played by Park, has drawn further attention. Viewers expressed disappointment, with some calling the casting process “unprofessional.” Others defended Park, citing human error and urging people to separate personal issues from professional work.

As the seven-episode sequel captivates audiences, the controversies have sparked debates about ethical standards in casting and accountability in high-profile productions.
