Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta, who became a prominent figure in India’s #MeToo movement, has shared a distressing video on social media, alleging ongoing harassment in her own home. The emotional video, which quickly went viral, shows Dutta in tears, describing the mental stress she claims to have endured over the past several years.
In the video, Dutta explained that she has been facing constant disturbances in her home. “I am being bothered in my own house,” she said. The actress revealed that she had contacted the police but was advised to visit the police station to file a formal complaint. She added that she might do so the following day, as she is currently unwell.
Dutta went on to explain that domestic employees, who were hired to assist with household chores, are allegedly involved in stealing her belongings and disturbing her mentally. “I have to do all the work at home myself because I cannot trust anyone anymore,” she said, describing the troubling behavior of those hired to help.
The actress, who gained fame in the early 2000s, further revealed that the continuous stress has taken a toll on her health. “My nature has changed, my house is in complete disarray, and I can’t even take care of myself anymore,” she shared.
In a follow-up video, Tanushree Dutta claimed to hear disturbing noises near her home. “I hear loud voices and blasts near my door and on the roof every single day. This has been happening since 2020,” she said. Despite repeatedly raising her concerns with her building management, no action has been taken to address the situation.
To cope with the stress, Dutta mentioned that she listens to Hindu chants through headphones to calm her mind. She also revealed that she has been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, which causes extreme tiredness and has worsened due to the ongoing disturbances near her residence.
Dutta has promised to share more details in the First Information Report (FIR) she plans to file, and fans and fellow artists on social media have expressed concern and urged authorities to intervene. There has been no official response yet from Mumbai Police.
Tanushree Dutta, who in 2018 accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of harassment, sparking India’s #MeToo movement, continues to stand strong in advocating for safety and justice for women in the entertainment industry.
