Former Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta has revealed why she declined a major deal to join Bigg Boss. The actor said she was offered a contract worth ₹1.65 crore but turned it down due to personal reasons.
In a recent interview, Dutta, 41, explained that she has been approached several times over the last decade to appear on the Salman Khan–hosted reality show. However, she said the show’s format goes against her values and lifestyle.
“Do you really think I would go to a show like that? I can’t stay in a place like that. I don’t even live with my own family,” she said.
The actor stressed that her privacy and dignity are more important than money. She explained that she could not accept conditions such as men and women sleeping in the same hall or sharing beds. “Do I look like the kind of woman who will sleep on the same bed with a man for a reality show? I’m not that cheap,” Dutta added.
Despite the large payment offered, she said no amount could convince her. “Even if they give me a piece of the moon, I wouldn’t go,” she stated.
Dutta also mentioned that the show’s team tried to adjust to her requirements. A stylist from the production even assured her that her diet would be taken care of. Still, the actor made it clear that comfort and personal boundaries mattered more than financial gain.
The Aashiq Banaya Aapne star, who has faced media attention in recent years due to her role in the #MeToo movement in India, emphasized that she prefers working on her own terms. “My privacy is valuable to me. I know I can earn more if they let me work in peace,” she said.
With this, Tanushree Dutta rejects Bigg Boss offer once again, showing that personal principles can outweigh even the most lucrative deals in show business.
