Global pop icon Taylor Swift has officially married American football star Travis Kelce in a lavish ceremony held at Madison Square Garden. The wedding attracted major celebrities, thousands of fans, and widespread international attention.
According to the couple’s longtime publicist, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce exchanged vows on Friday in New York City. The ceremony was officiated by comedian Adam Sandler and featured several well-known figures from the entertainment and sports industries.
The couple chose matching outfits by Christian Dior for the ceremony. Swift’s brother, Austin Swift, served as her man of honour, while retired NFL player Jason Kelce stood as the groom’s best man. The couple decided not to include traditional bridesmaids or groomsmen.
The celebrations began with a smaller pre-wedding event on Thursday. Around 100 guests reportedly attended the gathering, which was listed as a pre-party in permits filed with New York City authorities. A much larger celebration followed on Friday.
Roads around Madison Square Garden were temporarily closed to traffic to accommodate the event. Large tents and privacy screens were installed around the venue, allowing guests to arrive away from cameras and large crowds gathered outside.
Taylor Swift‘s publicist confirmed that the wedding attire was created by Jonathan Anderson, Dior’s creative director. The bride and groom also wore custom-made shoes by Christian Louboutin, while Swift completed her look with Cartier jewellery.
Thousands of fans gathered around the venue throughout the day despite temperatures reaching 37 degrees Celsius. Many supporters sang Taylor Swift’s songs, wore concert merchandise, and waited for a glimpse of the newly married couple. Some even climbed nearby structures to improve their view of the celebrations.
After the ceremony, Madison Square Garden displayed large illuminated signs reading “JUST&T MARRIED,” referring to the couple’s first names. The venue was also lit in a pink and lavender colour scheme to mark the occasion. The nearby Empire State Building also joined the celebrations with special lighting.
A long list of celebrities attended the wedding. Among those seen arriving were Hugh Grant, Jason Sudeikis, Benson Boone, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Dakota Johnson, Graham Norton and Ethan Hawke.
The two-day celebration was widely described as one of the biggest celebrity weddings in recent years. Planning experts estimated that reserving the iconic venue and surrounding area required a significant financial commitment.
Before the celebrations, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce reportedly donated millions of dollars to more than 20 charities. Although the donations were announced before the ceremony, they did not mention the wedding.
