Opal Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand has won the Miss World 2025 title, becoming the first Thai and only the second Southeast Asian to hold this prestigious crown. The 21-year-old beauty queen was crowned at the 72nd edition of the pageant held at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, India, on Saturday.
Competing against 107 contestants, Chuangsri impressed judges throughout the preliminary rounds, which tested fitness, beauty, talent, and public speaking. She advanced from the Top 40 to the Top 20, then the Top 8, eventually surpassing strong contenders from the Philippines, Poland, Ethiopia, Martinique, Ukraine, Brazil, and Namibia.

Previously crowned Miss Universe Thailand 2024, Chuangsri also placed as third runner-up at Miss Universe 2024. At Miss World 2025, she surpassed Filipino Krishnah Gravidez, who was the continental winner, to claim the crown. The runners-up included Ethiopia’s Hasset Dereje Admassu, Poland’s Maja Klajda, and Martinique’s Aurélie Joachim.
The outgoing Miss World 2024, Krystyna Pyszkova of the Czech Republic, formally passed the title to Chuangsri during the grand ceremony, celebrating a milestone for Thailand and Southeast Asia.
