TikTok creators are urging followers to subscribe to their Instagram and YouTube channels after a federal appeals court upheld a law requiring TikTok’s Chinese owner, ByteDance, to divest its US operations by January 19 or face a ban.
The popular app, with 170 million US users, has become a digital powerhouse, attracting advertisers and enabling small businesses through its TikTok Shop feature. However, concerns over data privacy and potential Chinese government influence have fueled bipartisan efforts to restrict the platform.

Similarly, lifestyle content creator Chris Burkett, followed by 1.3 million users, expressed doubts about TikTok’s longevity in the US, redirecting followers to his other platforms.
While some users remain skeptical of the ban’s implementation, others are preparing for the worst. Many are now focused on diversifying their digital presence as uncertainty around TikTok’s future intensifies.
