Lieutenant General Munir Afsar has assumed the role of Chairman at the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
His appointment as Chairman of NADRA has received the nod from the Federal Cabinet. The Ministry of Interior presented a list of three potential candidates for the position to the cabinet, and Lt. Gen. Munir Afsar emerged as the preferred choice after thorough deliberation.
Following the Federal Cabinet’s approval, a formal notification was issued to confirm Lieutenant General Muhammad Munir Afsar’s appointment as Chairman of NADRA.

The Federal Ministry of Interior has also released an official notification confirming the immediate commencement of Lieutenant General Muhammad Munir Afsar’s tenure as NADRA’s Chairman.
Lt. Gen. Munir Afsar holds a Master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing, and he received the President’s Award for his thesis on rapid geospatial data generation. He furthered his academic pursuits with an MS in National Resource Strategy from NDU Washington and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Remote Sensing at NUST Islamabad.
Additionally, Lt. Gen. Munir Afsar boasts a commendable track record of research publications in the fields of IT and GIS. His prior role was as DG Command, Control, and Communication when he held the rank of Major General.
